Zex Dry Nitrous Kits
I was planning on getting this dry nitrous kit from Zex, i heard they are very good and easy installation. It wont be until after my engine swap but just curious of how many of you have experience with nitrous or similar company kits.

my car was running a 175 dp NOS system. The dry zex kit i dont like. Instead of mechanical switches it uses tps voltage to engage. Second of all , I dont reccomend dry kits because you will find yourself uping and uping the shot. Trust me 50 wet vs 50 dry feels totally different. PM me if you need to know anything about spay, ive tried almost every combo you can.

what kind of engine did you use nitrous on. i just want to make sure because im either getting a simple ZC swap or if the money is right a B series. do you think nitrous would mess either of these engines up.
|
i was running a gsr block, ls crank, ross pistons, eagle rods and a b16a head (gsr cams, skunk2 springs and retainers) itr intake manifold.
It would not hurt the engine. If your goign to go with a b-series you can run a 75 shot wet with no problems at all. To run this run colder plugs, a fuel pump and a nitrous retard controller and you will be able to run bottles through it all day long. |
1sloweg:
do you know how many psi (on the zex dry kit) it raises the fuel pressure with a **36** jet in the zex control box? are the jets in the control box the same as the jets in the nozzle? |
never tryed zex before but I never liked how their kit worked to many things to fail
get a nx or nos wet kit dry kit seems like a ghetto rig setup I mean fuel pressure get's bumped up to the sky for more fuel |
well, i was given a complete zex dry kit (minus bottle brackets) for free, so i figured i'd give it a try.
I was thinking of maybe not even hooking the zex control box up to the fuel pressure regulator and just using a moates 2timer to switch over to the n20 maps with more fuel and less timing. IMO it'd be better to make/have a n20 tuned .bin to use instead of just having the control box jack up the fuel pressure. This is why i was asking how much the certain jets jack up the fuel pressure, if its just a little bit i was gunna give it a go and see what happens (with the wideband in, and real time programming of course) but if its too much (i'm not a fan of running too high of a fuel pressure on stock injectors, crome is a much better way of delivering more fuel) i'm just gunna say screw it to the fuel pressure regulator vacuum hook ups on the control box. |
I like the duel maps idea just spraying N20 with injectors compensating I think that would be best
|
ya, thats what i think i'm gunna do.
Now i just need some brackets/bottle re-filled and i'm in business. I'll post up my results....200whp b16 here i come. |
dont go zex, if u get a 75 shot ur only getting 25 shot something about the nos set up i was going to do zex but then i found out what happens if u want to go nos go NOS or NX zex is no good
|
I hope you know what your doing with NOS. heard so many horror stories....
Hope you motor can handle it. have fun. |
well i got a zex kit for free so i'm gunna use it.
If the engine lets go, i'll finish my 1.85L bottom end that i've been building and toss that in. |
do you think a ZC dohc can handle a 50 shot?
|
yes it can handle a 50 shot as long as you can supply enough fuel.
Andrew, not sure on that question, not very familier with the zex. I always use NOS products whether it be on my car or a customers. |
