ZC Upgrades

Anybody know if a cylinder head such as a d16z6 would work with a zc to add vtec. If anybody has done a mini me swap on a zc engine could you tell me please.

If its a SOHC ZC, the cylinder heads may fit. If its a DOHC ZC, definitely not.

Nope. With the DOHC ZC's you get the benefit of individual cams for intake and exhaust but no VTEC. It's kind of a double edge sword. And no (before anyone asks it), a B18A/B or any other B Series head will not fit.

What years/models were the ZC engines used in? And why didn't they just stick with the usual options of a B or D series engine?

......Just curious.....and trying to brush up on my honda history...

a ZC is a D-series engine basically...north america wise they were basically in 86-89 integras (d16a1 engine) basically the same, some minor differences and japanese wise, 4th gen civic/crx Si

the ZC was also found in rover 1600's...if u wanna mess with people's head's get a rover valve cover for your dohc zc haha

^^ so what your saying is if you see a dohc D series...it's a ZC and also some sohc D series are ZC's as well? Are all ZC motors non-vtec?
