ZC questions

Hi Ed here
I have a 90 Civic si 1.6 and am thinking about putting in a ZC .
I'm on a tight budget. Firstly is it worth it? What has to be adapted ? Is this a SOHC . Is there a reliable source out there for a low mileage engine?
I'll do the swap myself.
thanks.

yes its worth it and there is sohc zc's and dohc zc's.......the better of the two is the dohc, its pretty much a straight swap and u can use whatever tranny you've got now with it but id reccomend trying to find a lsd zc tranny with it

for your si it is a striaght drop affair...if your motor is fine then I'd jsut keep it cause the sohc zc is pretty much the same motor. But if your looking for a lower milage replacement then that is ok, but the dohc zc has more hp..130 hp to be exact..both are direct oem replacement procedure

single zc is way quicker than a normal Si d16a6...my single zc ran high 15's easy and with ****ty broken mounts and old street tires...now I have a junky d16a6 and it blows goats...but of course the double z is an awesome 1 day drop in motor

zc into an si is so simple, direct bolt in and you have to extend two wires to the cam sensor. turn key and enjoy
