Umm buddy the ZC is not crap, for the money its a fairly potent motor its just not very upgradable. Personally though I feel that most D series swaps area waist of time not considering how cheap a b series swap can be done for these days.

for what its worth, a z6 is a all around better motor, and as for d's being a waist of time and money, i call BS on that. sure B'sare above D"s but with a little work D's can walk over B's. its all about what u prefer, plus parts for B's are $$$$ were parts for a D are in every scrap yard and can be had at any shop. let us not forger Mr. Bisimoto.

My brother has a ZC (DOHC) in his EF...and its pulls man.....its got more torque than my Z6.

I think a Z6 would be easier to maintain, because parts are so easy to find. With the ZC, its a bit harder to find parts, because they are so old, not to mention that its JDM.

For a d to walk all over a b series motor that would have to be a pretty built up d series, and also wtf are you talking about with b series parts being serious money, in my experience they are still fairly cheap and more plentiful and plenty of b series parts can be found in junkyards just as many as d series parts. And D series are a waist of time because unless you build them they wont take or make anywhere near the power that and b series motor can make with the equivilant amount of mods. Hell its proven that the dirt cheap bone stock teg LS motor (the motor i run) on fairly low boost can run a reliable 200hp to the wheels boosted all day long, you think your d16 is gonna make the same numbers stock and still be reliable? I hardly think so or else everyone would be doing it.

b-series are junk swaps in comparison to a stock d-motor....I run better times in a d16a6 than b16a1...u can blame spinning tires or whatever but I havent seen many people crush my 15.8 d16a6 STOCK motor times with their swaps...last time I was at the track I was watching type r drivers do 15 second passes...sure they might have been bunk drivers but I dont care...u shoulda seen the face of the camaro SS driver when I was on his *** the whole 1/4 mile in my stock civic...priceless!

D-series or no series!!!!

Are you kidding?! I've ran 14.9 numerous times with a stock B16A, I'm sure I'll reach 14.8 this year stock. How is that compareable with a 15.8? .9 seconds is a HUGE difference, and it would take you a lot of money to drop that much off your time just to bring you on par with a completley stock B series. Not to mention it doesn't take much to make a B16A1 considerably faster.. You see used Type-R cams going for like $350 sometimes, intake maifolds for as cheap as $300 or sometimes a little less, and B18A blocks for like 2-300$.... There's just no comparing at all.

But back on topic - ZC is a very good motor, I used to have one and was quite happy with it. The reason I ditched mine was I'm aiming for mid-13s NA and that was going to be really hard to do with the ZC.. The parts aren't hard to find either, as been said, you just gotta know what you're looking for.

matt u gotta chill with this "u can run better times with a D than a B series. thats a pretty bold statement.

i had a single overhead zc that ran 15.9 stock, my LS motor now might hit low 15's, and with a b16 u have a good chance of hitting 14's

ZC's are 'ok' motors, they pull nice but they dont last very long.

I had the chance of upgrading to a DOHC zc but i said **** it and went LS

biggest bang for buck?? i had a D15B in my ef hatch with intake, header, catback exhaust, high flo cat, fuel pressure regulator, ZC ECU, and some good ol dyno tuning. my SOHC VTEC was making 122WHP and 115ft/lb torque. never got a chance to run it 1/4 mile. but the motor was strong. and all 'd' series bolt ons work.

How does that post make me look like I have alot of rage? Did you see me yelling out profanities or typing in caps or something? No. I simply posted my thoughts through my own personally experience with different motors so you can take it whatever way you want. And if you ever talk about my mother again then thats when you will start seeing some serious rage from me so shut your stupid newb mouth.

Thrillhouse is right and the rest of you are Retards. D series swaps over B's?. Give me a ****ing break. B swaps put you right into the 14's!!!!.You'd have some serious work done to your D to even touch high 14's. Sure they are more cost effective but from a performance standpoint they are inferior. Im not even going to get into that.
BUT CYNIKAL...MY GOD MAN!!!.....that has to be the Ricer post of the year. You spank B16's?. Maybe if it was in a 4door with 3 12's and a ****load of ICE. But thats not the half of it.Im not calling you a liar but any 98-02 Camaro SS runs' low 13's stock.Guy's with some decent street tire's, bone stock can hit High 12's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ive seen it. There's no way you were even within 5 car length's of that bad boy. Even if it was an older LT1 iron Block SS. There even more rare and Came with either the 325hp ram air package or the SLP package(350hp, and Camaro's are usually rated low mind you) Even the older Lt1's run a 13.4-13.9 all day long. So either this was a bracket race or the guy Was taking a sip of his pepsi before he raced.hahahahaa.There's NO way you can even keep up to an SS. Good try. You can preach your D serie's and even say you run with B16's. But don't try to make us belive you even hang with an F-body cause you can't.
