ZC ECU and Emissions

Right now I'm running the Si ECU on the ZC, I was just wondering if I'll be able to pass emissions using the ZC ECU.

Thanks!

Hey nice ride,

I have the same set up as you, it should work fine with the ZC computer, but why change?

Thanks man. This car is my baby.

Well I got a good offer on a ZC ECU and I figure it'd be best to run the engine with the computer its supposed to be with.

Will it still be able to pass emissions though?

Assuming everything works as it should, I don't see why you would fail 1989 emissions... Like regular emissions equipment... cat, o2 sensor, charcoal canister, PCV, etc... if that all works as it should, you're golden.

^^ exactly. I know many people wih JDM B16's and they pass e-testing no problem so I wouldn't see a problem with your motor failing unless it's not tuned properly. The test should go a bit better with the zc ecu b/c your motor is getting all of ther correct reading for all sensors and such, not saying it will fail without it, probably won't but don't be worried unless you still haven't performed a tune up since it's been dropped in meaning all parts from Japan are still on it

I was told that with the Si ecu the engine runs leaner so you get better mileage, but don't quote me on this. Right now I'm getting between 350-400kms per tank (city and hwy), although I have a smaller tank, don't know why the previous owner would opt for the smaller tank(35l)
