Are you sure 100% that the pressure plate is from an 89?

If so then he can only use the 89 Civic/CRX clutch or the 89 integra clutch.

The 89 Integra has a clutch disk a size of 200 mm in diameter so any other clutch other than the 2 above mentioned will not fit in the pressure plate.

88 Civic clutch disks are 190 mm in diameter, 90-95 are all 212 mm in diameter.

If he does plan on purchasing a new clutch it comes with a new pressure plate, release bearing and the clutch disk. Just make sure it's from an 89 b/c if you mix and match upon years it won't fit.

well if it's a 89 integra pressure plate ... maybe a 89 clutch would work with it?? I dunno I'm only guessing here... maybe if there's a 89 integra in a junkyrad with that yard having a clutch and pressure plate from it you could look to see if they are the same ??? just tossing Ideas out there

Depending on how old the pressure plate is and flywheel you may want to replace them both.
I had y flywheel re-surfaced once I got my new clutch in.
Fit like a charm!
I love this new clutch!
