hey guys i'm possibly getting a zc for my 92 Si, however the engine is pre-obd and I can get a computer for the zc and wiring... However i'm not intirely sure if it's going to work and this is my first honda so I don't know if it will work or not???

Thanks for your help

u can either a) get an OBD1 ZC which is a black top from wat i remember or b) get your stock ECU chipped to run the ZC engine either or is ok but option B is easier because the OBD1 ZC engine and OBD1 ecu is hard 2 find.

yeah I heard the obd1 engine is hard to find, I have the computer for the zc is that good enough to do the zc swap???

your harness wont plug right into that computer. if you didnt already know.

i have a OBD1 ZC sitting here if u r interested...

it was on my EG hatch and i just took it off for B16

An OBDx wiring harness will only work with an OBDx motor and a OBDx ecu.

If you are going pre OBD then everything else has to follow.

personally I would stay away from any ZC, they are weak motors ...the best affordable swap for your car is an D15B 450$ for the motor alone. Its OBD1 so the only thing youll have to do is remap your ecu.

Is there anything wrong with your current motor or are you planning to install the ZC as an upgrade?

The 1.6 stock one I have is gone, need to replace it.... just trying to figure out what I can do and what's good for cheap swap until I can do my other one

zc is quicker but kinda weak in the head area especially go for a d15b solid motor! a lil quicker than the Z6 imo

Honestly, don't spend your money on a ZC. The motors are obsolete now and very few are actually still in great shape.

Then what should I get to go best in my 92 si hb that will still have some go to it until I can boost it!!!!???

imported_teaelle 17-Aug-2007 01:35 AM

my ZC, it's OBD1~ :D

it's a 4th gen and with hydro tranny, guaranteed fast...the car maxed out 210km/h in 4th gear @ 7300rpm

however it does burn a little oil thou, but it's pretty strong, lower end it's faster than B16 but only a little bit slower in the higher end, have to shift at 7000rpm

but it's faster than any SOHC D-series enignes

imported_187Chor 17-Aug-2007 02:30 PM

but u have a zc.. no vtec... so turbo's ur only option..
or u can spend 5g on ur NA setup and a guy will come along with his bubble back and stock gsr swap and still beat u
