Talking Y8 IM fitment ***PICS***

So i replaced my d16y7 IM w/ a IM from a y8, now i noticed that there is a leak coming from the IM...it does not look like the IM sits flush against the head b/c the y8 head is diff. but most threads said that this should not be a problem...should i just try replacing the IM gasket????

would getting a y7 gasket fit better? because it sits against the head flushed? where as the y8 gasket overlappes

wait till bruno chimes in. he's done the mini-me. I would assume both gaskets are the same. But guess not.

I've noticed that there are four holes on the top of the manifold exposing the injectors i believe - after seeing this it seems as though this is the cause of the leak b/c that top section of IM does not sit flush against the head
*that part of the manifold is exposed - i've never seen this problem in all the forums...
for an easy swap this is becoming frustrating

hmmmmm only relevant pic I could find. if you isht doesn't look like this, it's not a Y8 manifold. gasket I used was a Y8 prolly but I don't remember.

that manifold you got came off a 99+ civic si or an EL ...those cars have air injection into the injectors therefore you cannot use that manifold on a y7 head, try getting a 96-00 civic si or an older el w/o air injection IM

Thumbs up

^^^
yup, what tspoon mentioned above is correct.

however, you can still use that IM with your Y7 head.
just cover/fill those holes with some JB Weld.

If you need a y8 IM, there is a 97 si civic at Standard Auto Wreckers with the motor in the car still. I was there on thursday.
