wrapping springs..
anyone ever wrapped their springs to give the *** end a bit of a lift??
since the install of the stereo the drop has become too much for my liking..
thinking of wrapping a couple of the coils in 5/8" hose..
option is to rep[lace the Eibachs with OEM
thoughts please..

Use hard rubber spacers. I used to do this - ages ago - on my first domestic to give the *** end a lift. You would install these on the shock towers. I dunno where you could get these now - maybe a shop for 4x4's?

so are custom rated springs too
i'll have a look for "blocks" tho (spacers) and if that doesn't pan out i'll look for other alternatives.......
appreciate the feedback guys!!

Stock springs in the rear will mess up the ride.
the higher spring rates in the aftermarket springs on the front will put more weight onto the rear... the stock spring rates in the back won't support the weight as well.
So basically the rear will just bounce around when marty drive around... prolly also cause premature shock wear.
The spacers or taller stiffer customer springs in the rear is a much better idea. i dunno about wrapping, doesn't seem like an effective idea.

I thought OEM are softer and with all that weight the car would be sagging even more?
2 years ago I had 3 people in the back of my car weighing over 500lbs and the car was lowered at least 2 inches instantly. It was a nightmare!
Marty, get custom springs man, do things right the first time!

ok you guy's are tools...wrapping yoru springs is liek from the 60's...it will incresse your spring rate and throw thigns outta wack...not to mention custom springs...wtf is that
sell your springs and get coil overs whether it sleeves or full problem solved
I'm guessign you ahve stock shocks aswell and increasing the spring rate more with added weight will cause a very unstable suspenion...
