is it worth it?

one of my buddies got a 94 integra LS with a cracked head and what looks like paint was splattered all over it for like $500. He wants to sell me the block with 280,000km on it without the cracked head for $100. MY other buddy works at Leitner and said I can get a b16 head for pretty cheap. My question is would the ls block have to be rebuilt? Is it even worth trying with that many km on it (mostly highway driving to and from Halifax).

u might aswell rebuild it if its already out and seperated from the head...and if ur gonna vtec it up thats anothe good reason to rebuild it cuz ur gonna wanna bang on it after its done and nothin is worse than havin a new motor put in that u didnt rebuilt then poof starts blowin smoke!

yeah i know ineed to rebuild it but that wasnt the question. the question was is it worth it...ie how much would it roughly cost to get the ls block rebuilt and then add the b16 head to it plus install.

hunt around , most japanese engine places sell , b16a1 motor and tranny for like $1200-$1300

so divide that up

its not rediculously low - no more demand for b16a1 - old motors , everyone wants second gens , or jdm2

honestly in my opinion , its not worth wasting your $$ into any 88-91 civic or 92-95 civic , cheaper to buy one with a swap allready

thats my opinion

it's not worth discussing anymore...i just realized the ls is from a 94 which is hydraulic and my car being a 4th gen won't work together...and not worth getting that kit from hasport that lets you use hydraulic
