you mentioned your tranny "grinds"

do you actually get it into gear, then it pops out?

or
you think you get it into gear but it doesn't go in all the way?

yeah, its in gear, im driving in that gear, but ill be turning so ill let go the gas then after the turn give it gas again causing the shifter to bounce around, and it bounces right out into a grind

how are your mounts??
sounds like what's happening is that the shifter, which is at full extended position is being jimmied out of "being in gear" when the engine/tranny shifts forward/rearward..it's pulling it out just enuf to hit the synchro..
any problem in 4th?? if you can make the car get the same kind of power to lurch in 4th, give it a shot, it'll tell you whether that's the problem or not..

as far as it geting locked into gear by a sumtin'-sumtin'...there's a little, oh let's call it a keyway for lack of a learned word, that'll lock it into the selected gear internally..this being worn will let it slip out easily...

if your going in to gear easily enuf, yer synchro's are probably still okay..if yer battling it, out she comes

my first thought tho still goes with the mounts..check them, and the bushings too..
