Wider tires

My friend and I want to know if there are any real dissadvantages to having wider tireson your car. Other than lower gas mileage and hydroplaning on water?

Thanks Guys!!

Your might accelerate a tiny bit slower due to unspung weight.

even hydroplaning on water isn't really a real concern as long as you don't buy cheap tires or as long as your tread depth is good.

really, only disadvantage is the weight penalty of heavier tires, and slight increase in fuel consumption.

on the positives are handling, braking, and stability.

You might rub if your car is lowered and no camber kit. My EK rubed sometimes with 205 tires and a drop of a bit less than 2 inches

No disadvantages just lots of advantages.... go for it....

205's are wide?
well then ikk tekk you that there are few to no disadvantages, ive been running 205s for 2 seasons witha 2 inch drop and the only time i rub is if theres a bump or dip that i didnt see in time, or if theres a ridiculously steep driveway, oh and i hydroplan occasionaly but only at lights when i give it to much gas

I didn't say 205s were wide, I just said my car rubs with them.

And even slightly wider makes a huge difference in the handling and stability, I went from 205 stock this summer to 225 and it wa alot more to my liking and driving style. It took a few days to get used to the heavy drag at a standing start :D
