why dont my pads fit?

so i'm doing a little pad replacement... i should be doing more but $20 worth of CT pads will do for a little...

so i have the brakes mostly apart... and i put the new pads in like i have twice in the past... and i find a problem of the caliper not fitting properly over the pads...

like it does fit over them but it wont fully go over them kinda thing... almost like the caliper is pointing is if it has toe out kinda thing.... so you can't even bolt the caliper on or anything...

i've called two CT already and both gave me the same part number as whats on the box, so they are the right part but what am i missing...

i've already turned the caliper piston all the in and it should have enough clearance for the pads... yet it doesn't sit straight

this is sure putting a damper on my weekend that almost isn't happening anymore

ya everytime i have gotten the same pads they just went right in... and now i've found crappy tire cross threaded a bolt way back when and it wont go back in... so now i can't go to work tomorrow or go up to north bay for my vacation.... god i wish i just left it alone... or had a spare car cause then i could go get some new bolts and a tap to try and fix that hole...

did you use chanel lock plyers to squeeze the piston back in to make room for the new thickness of the pads?

figured it out... somehow during manufacturing or perhaps even by design those little cylinderical thingys that the ends of the caliper push on were to high... on the old pads that thing stuck up about 0.125 mm less then the news ones so i grinded it off and voila in they go...

i think i might try to find some new calipers though... something that wont get all diarea looking like mine are now

Rick, when you do the rotors next time pick up a rebuild kit for the calipers. Sounds like it rebuild time soon, and it's fairly easy.

also keep in mind that girls would only wear "a" pad.... as opposed to "pads" like the title says
