why does crap keep breaking??
New here, own a S13 and EG.
built the EG ground up.. just a rough idea of the parts. *turbo not installed yet*
-D15b VTEC, 1.6 USDM rebuilt head, Cometic HG, ARP studs
-Exedy stage 2 3puck clutch, OMNI Power Quik Clutch master cyl.
-Energy suspension poly-urathane engine mount inserts only on side mounts
-Coil sleeves (ghetto i know till tein super streets arrive)
K problems...
This clutch setup peels 2nd HARD (mad wheel hop), 3rd chirps decent, and 4th squaks.
Last weekend, driving home from cliff jumping.. Didnt notice obviously that my ALT bolts were rattling off. got off the highway 1st lights i turn off the on ramp. give 1st gear, nailed 2nd, wheel hop. battery light comes on, pull over.. alternator is sitting on P/S rack..drive home, repair with loctite
Today driving. nailed 2nd gear, shifter drops to the ground. drive home, jack it up. the one shift linkage has completely been pulled out of the rubber bushing by the shifter.. tried to take the bracket off the bushing, bolts are fuct, disconnected it from the tranny, disconnected the other linkage at the shifter. slid the linkage back thru the bushing and bolted it all back up..
Go to drive again. BAMMMMM, same **** happens with the shifter.. get home. jack it up, repair it. i notice, heyyyy why is my cat hanging so low?
Rear engine mount BROKE!!! wen i installed the motor a month ago i put BRAND new $20 bolts from honda on the mount to the motor x2.... torqued to spec. and they rattled there self out im assuming right after the mount had broken.
to describe how the mount looks. well. both holes for the rear mount to the motor have sheared in half practically allowing the mount to slide off the bolts as if it was slotted...
WHY this b.s off a stock d??? not even solid mounts.. everything torqued to spec etc. etc...
any suggestions to these hassles?
Thanks in advance
Brandon

maybe your breaking stuff cause your shifting like an *** hole
"quick shift" master cylinder....lol makign you think you can rip it so hard and fast
wheel hop
= broken stuff yoru an idiot your own fault
take it easy on that 130 hp...
wait till you actually make power you will have to take it easier and learn to drive not like a douchebag kid

besides the way you are driving, another common problem is vibration. Could be:
1. The exhaust touching somewhere on the body and touches more when you accelerate.
2. Incorrect engine mounts so the engine is not sitting the way
its suppose too.
3. Are you running any flex joints on the exhaust system?
4. Not sure on the D15, but incorrect driveshafts e.g left and right mixed up.

another old school way to stop the bolts from coming off is to apply some high temperature silicone on the threads of the bolts.

I think the wheel hop and the way you drive combined are causing your problems. The wheel hop is mad hard on the driveline.... get some new bushings for your suspension and maybe some traction bars. then stuff won't break as much, but it still will given your driving habits. I bet your transmission and axles aren't too far from failure either.

People like you give other motorist reasons for hating us Civic owners. Just sell the car to someone that respects the car and doesnt cause a seen.
