Why do civics cool down so far?

Just curious, why do Civics seem to cool down so fast compared to other cars ?

Even my gf's 1990 accord was still warm after sitting for an hour today, my civic would be cold for sure.

It could be due to the size of the engine. A smaller combustion engine should produce less heat compare to a larger displacement engine.

Yes that's what I thought too, but my mom's car is an I4 (c class), and my gf's accord is I4 too(right?), and they don't cool down fast..

look at the space around the civics engine.. lots of room.. look at the c class.. everything is packed so close together.. everything gets heat soaked and insulates everything around it a little

my civic would cool down so fast.. my 325i is still warm after leaving it alone for 2 hours outside.. there is no room in that engine bay, and the whole underside is covered by shields

just cuz it's an I4 you cant' compare I4's to I4's without taking into account displacement, and all the other thing people mentioned... different cars have less space in the engine bay... retains more heat...

cast iron blocks will retain heat more than aluminum ones btu the engine bay being empty is the main reason imo why they cool down faster....better heat displacement in the empty engine bay

warms up fast if you arent impatient and have the heater on hot and the blower on max before the coolant temp is up
