where is the starter located??

where is the starter located??
i'm looking under my hood to check out the starter but can't seem to pin point it. anyone know? 94 civic manual

its on the tranny side of the motor... they have a few different styles from what my haynes manual says... its like under the distibutor from what i can see....

its like a cylinder shape under the dizzy, its held on with 2 10mm bolts....

you will see some wires going to it from your fuse box

i just checked it, there's a wire and 2 bolts holding it.. If i take the 2 bolts off will it jsut come right off and how would i know if it's bad by looking at it??

take it off, disconnect the 10mm bolt holding the wire that goes to the battery, and take off the 2 12mm bolts ....

....you can test the starter by connecting the large bolt at the bottom to the positive, and grounding out the starter...make sure you also touch the small spade like prong to the +ve too and check to see if the bendix moves out and spins.
or you can take it to CRAPPY TIRE and get them to check it out.
