Where to get tires??
 

I need new tires for my 14" OEM steelies. Leaning towards a really good ALL SEASON with good rain/snow traction. Anyone know anyone that can get deals on tires and which tire would be best?

ryan, do u have those? WIll they hold up good in winter, u mentioned another set thats coming out in january? is it worth the wait for those, because my all season stockies are pretty bad right now

I heard Pirelli has good all season tires. I might be getting 2 for myself soon since I have 2 decent and 2 bad tires combo. My gf just got her car a set of 4 Pirelli (15 inch I believe, or 16? It is for Solara) for 520 everything included (tire balance, labour and whatnot) at a friend's garage.

Agreed. Crappy Tire has some good all-seasons and they are cheap (they are often on sale too). I had a set of Motomaster all-seasons on my old Civic for 3 years and had no problems. :thumbup:

Yeah I gave up on holding out for the BFG Traction T/A's. The early reviews of them looked very promising... an all-season tire with performance levels comparable to my Michelin Pilots but with high tread wear and good snow grip... but because I needed tires right away I couldn't hold out for the January release in Canada.

I also got a second set of rims for summer so I settled for a touring tire instead of a performance tire and went initially for the Michelin X-One. Unfortunately the X-One is discontinued and Michelin's replacement (the Hydroedge) doesn't come in a 185/60R14 or 195/60R14.

Upon that news I did some more research and came across the Pirelli P3000 Cinturato. Every review I read said they were an excellent all-season (obviously some compromise in performance) comparable to the X-One -- even better in some respects. I looked at the tread design and they're definitely oriented for all-season traction (snow, rain & dry).

I called around and got a set of 195/60R14's on my car last week for just under $100 per tire. A very good price for an excellent tire. I suggest checking them out.

I will be picking up these sometime this week once i get my bushing fixed....

only YOU can decide what tire is right for you. you drive the car, you know what to expect from your car, you know how much money you have in the bank.

If I wanted an amazing handling winter car, I'd get Hakka tires, but since I only expect my car to drive and no more, I can get away with 25% stock Civic rubber that's been drying out for 6 years. What might do it for some ppl won't cut it for others.

I've been running 14" Toyo Spectrum all-seasons for just over a year now, and for a daily driver they perform really well. Good wet traction, and now at the start of another snow season they're still gripping well. They were suggested to me by the guys at Tirecraft in Concorde (Jane north of hwy 7.) Great guys and they really know their sh*t. Bonus is they have a nice aggresive tread design for an all-season tire. If you're looking for an all-out winter tire, I hear Nokian is sweet...made in Finland.

Definitely Bruno. They are the most amazing winter-capable tires. If they were less expensive, I probably would be running a set of their H-rated Hakkas right now.

Crappy Tire has "buy one, get the second at 1/2 price" on their A/S tires right now. :)

i got nordic icetracs at crappy tire for $300. not all seasons but they're a great snow tire for the price. never got stuck in anything with these in any of my previous winters.
