Wheels making weird noise
Thanks for reading
Yesterday i decided to put my rims on (bolted them correctly, etc etc) well when i started driving, at about 30 km/hr- 50kmh/hr they start to have this dragging effect and made this loud rubbing type noise and also sort of sounds like i am at high rpm's, then again at like 80km/hr-90km/hr it makes an even louder noise but pretty much the same thing. now i noticed that one of my wheels had this weirdness to it, the thread wasn't evenly rounded around the entire tire. one part of it seemed like it was flat and not following the rounded shape that a tire is supposed to have, could this be the cause? or is it just the balancing of the tires or something? and help is greatly appreciated |
Are they brand new rims and tires? or used. If used, the tire could be damaged, or you could have the wrong offset and you're rubbing on something
|
they r used, and i don't think it's the offset, because it only makes the noise between certain km/hr where could i take them to get them checked out? any mechanic or specifically a wheel place?

A belt has shifted in your tire there is no way too fix this other than to buy a new tire or another used one your choice either way good luck.
|
cheap tires are loud too...crappy tread patterns make horrid road noise...just like them big mudder tires on jeeps etc...you can hear em humming like crazy on the highway
|
if you dont get shake or vibration at high speed...i dont think you need balancing. also..moving from a high to low profile tire and bigger rims as well can make you feel that dragging effect.
