Whats your spring rates on GC + Koni Yellows
I'm probably going with 450 front and 350 rear.
Anyone else have custom spring rates on their ground control coilovers and running koni yellows? Thanks... |
I'd switch them around 350 front and 450 rear...
I currently have 400 front and 450 rear with a 19 mm rear sway bar.. however I have Tokico shocks. I will int he future upgrade to the Koni race shocks |
Why switch them around? Whats the benefit of that? Just curious, I dont know too much of this subject.
I called ground control and he suggested 450/350. ?? |
cause with a stiffer rear it will make the car les likely to understeer...making the car more neutral handling. add a larger rear sway and people can get FWD cars to have amazing turn-in.
its common on autox cars to have very stiff rates with the stiffer being on the rear for this exact reason. having the front of the car very stiff but the rear less stiff will make the car more likely to understeer when pushed hard into a corner, but with the rear stiffer, the front will grip alittle more then the rear causing the car to be more neutral as the front turns in faster then the rear. |
Different setting suits different driving style and condition. Stiffer rear spring rate isn't the only answer.
But, do experiment and find out what you like. |
Ok.
Im doing more research on this/ |
You don't want oversteer on the street, its too dangerous.
I am running F340 R400 for my OTS koni yellows, getting a ITR sway bar pretty soon. Later on when I get my koni revalved and I would go F1000 R1200. |
Your gonna have to get ur Koni's revalved cause they can only handle 550-600 lb/in. in the rear and the fronts 500 lb/in. without revalving to handle that higher load.
