whats the benifits???

whats the benifits to :

1)Lightening your flywheel
2)boreing out throttle body
3)bigger inectors w/better spark plugs

and in what order do i do them in??

Import Racer 05-Jul-2003 05:49 PM

I'm just curious who that is in your sig :yummy:

imported_echien 05-Jul-2003 05:51 PM

Yeah is that your sister or your mom??

imported_BoOsTd 05-Jul-2003 09:23 PM

1)Lightening your flywheel = quicker reves up and down shifting, less centrifical force for the engine to turn, in most cases extendes engine life/ crank life cuz of less weight on the parts, it doesnt create horsepower it takes the horsepower you already have and makes it more efficiant/ usable...

2)boreing out throttle body= more air for added fuel, to compleate the mixture..more oxygen=more combustion with the added fuel

3)bigger inectors w/better spark plugs= more fuel flow, for more combustion, and the pluggs to ignite it all, so it doesnt foul the cheap pluggs... Go for NGK iridium pluggs, nothing else can touch them...15 bucks a piece...i run them with my nitrous, one cold point lower, no problems, perfect burn! I even notice more top end power with them! never overlook the importance of good pluggs, they are often neglected; they also tell a great story of whats going on inside your engine!

anyone else wanna add to that? im sure i missed a few things

I forgot to comment on that nice clevage :)

ummm...nice clevage :) 17"s?

imported_eth0r 06-Jul-2003 12:54 AM

yup, the iridium plugs are the best, i noticed a power difference right away

Mugen Power 06-Jul-2003 12:30 PM

hahaaaaaaaaaaa...........

#1-hands down, its flywheel. this is one the best bangs for your buck ever!
#2-**** the throttle body, we'll doctor that intake manifold first, then deal with the throttle body
#3-you do not need to upgrade your injectors. they (oem gsr fuel pump, injectors, fuel rail etc.) can support up to 180+whp with proper tuning, easily. as for iridium plugs, get off of the crack. trust me, thun, don't waste your money. i'll pm you the proper plugs to buy, and, i'll back up my proof. they are about $5.50/each, and they are platinum. if you have any more of these questions, holla.

imported_BoOsTd 06-Jul-2003 01:40 PM

Platinum pluggs tend to detonate in a nitrous mixture, they dont dissapate heat well ...thats why I use the iridiums.. Iridium is 6 times harder, 8 times stronger, and has a melting point 1200 degrees higher than platinum. They resist wear much better. Platinum should be adequet for normal use tho OEM.

I got all four pluggs for 15 bucks at Canadian Tire, the chick at the checkout counter screwed up and didnt read the times 4 on the invoice..yea, score!!

Also a friend of mine dynod his civic with 260cc injectors and new iridiums installed...solid 5 hp gain!! no BS..

is it me ....................

i don't remember this cat mentioning anything about nitrous. oh, i get it, you have nitrous, well then, that would mean that your argument is an exercise in futility. he doesn't have nos, so, he wouldn't need iridium plugs in a colder heat range. so, i stand by my argument, that, for your application (CG2G) that iridium plugs are a waste of money. give me a couple of minutes and i'll prove it to you .

imported_eth0r 06-Jul-2003 02:25 PM

i dont spray nos, and those plugs made a noticeable difference on my n/a setup

Mugen Power 06-Jul-2003 05:53 PM

o.k, but

were you running ngk v-powers' before popping for iridium's? o.k., if you guys don't believe me, the proof is everywhere, if you think that spending $80-120 for a set of plugs, is a wise investment, then knock yourself out. but, i know that if are running less than 300whp, iridium plugs are not worth the cake. even NGK has recommended V-Power plugs (for b series motors)over there best platinum plug because the electrode is larger and can withstand more abuse (high revs, and constant changes in speed). anyway, peep this http://www.importreview.com/reviews/densoVSbosch.html

haha: what an investment.

it was probably time for you to change your plugs.

so you're going to notice a difference between new plugs and old plugs.

it you have good copper plugs in your car, and pull them out and put iridiums in, you won't notice a difference.

Fair enough :D Nos was the reason i switched, cuz of the smaller groundstrap and less projection/smaller tip... I guess its just a (what do you call it...a Placebo? i guess..) that I thought the engine ran smoother even when not spraying. I can understand not spending that kind of cash for an N/A setup...And I have heard good things about the v-grooves.

Iridium, 4 cyl = about 50-60 bucks

I scored all mine for 15 bucks ...:bling: bwahh

punkindrublic 07-Jul-2003 10:59 AM

CT sells those iridium plugs... i think they are ngk... could be wrong but they are like $19.99 a pair.... like they aren't that expensive really... i've been tempted to try them out but i've always gotten those ngk platnums cause they are like 75 cents more per pair then the cheap ones... i dont see how iridiums can really improve power on a stock motor though.... they may last longer but thats just more crap to get stuck on them reducing there abilities

What gap on the plug should I use for a JDM B16a1 motor?

bbarbulo 07-Jul-2003 11:09 AM

I run copper, always have, always will. :D
