what springs to get for my 97 SI?

i tried a search and I couldnt find anything

looking for 1.8-2.0 drop
want something more confortable then stiff, but a bit stiffer than stock

any ideas?

I don't want a bumpy firm ride

how are neuspeeds?
thanx in advance

imported_bananax 05-Mar-2007 12:59 PM

this is just a guess on my part after looking into getting a 1" drop

For the most part, going down 1.8-2" you will lose alot of ride comfort unless you go for a full coil over setup, or get some really good dampers, which then you might aswell get the adjustable coilovers since the price will be close. if you want to retain close to stock comfort and a bit more stiffness, I think H&R OE wouldn't be bad, but those are only a 1" drop.

GL!

ill sell you my eibach sportlines (1.8 drop) and my tokico blues.

YOu can go for a ride in my car, its very comfortable. Even ask zeeman, he commented on them last time he was in my vehicle mobile.

Tein S-techs will give you the drop your looking for while being only slightly stiffer then stock.

fingolfin 05-Mar-2007 01:12 PM

thanx everyone so far for the imput. Im extremly new to hondas, had a bunch of VW's and normally springs were good enough for them..

chris_si98, i sent you an PM.

how are nuespeeds? any good?

illmatic_si 05-Mar-2007 01:13 PM

h&r sport... they are stiffer than stock but still comfortable

before those I had sportlines, they felt just like stock to me, wasnt satisfied.

fingolfin 05-Mar-2007 01:13 PM

also, Ive been talking to Rich at OptionJDM, he recommened I get the Omni camber kit, good idea right?

DumbasSi 05-Mar-2007 02:08 PM

H&R SPort springs with Koni Red struts. The ride and drop were perfect IMO. Camber was ok, but toe was out until I got a proper alignment.

Meh.. it's a 1.8" drop you may still be able to get within specs. If not, you'll still be able to get damn close to the specs.

But if you got some cash to burn, it's not a bad idea (if your over 2", i would get one though)

fingolfin 09-Mar-2007 05:17 PM

im leaning more towards the Tiens, the S-techs

my friend has them in his toyota corrolla S and the ride is actually pretty good

imported_wajih1 09-Mar-2007 05:40 PM

i got h&r sports, ride is pretty comfortable.

bbarbulo 09-Mar-2007 06:06 PM

1st of all I can't say enough good things about H&R. I love them! Everything about them. I have their full coilovers and it's absolutely a joy to drive my car.

I also recommend Tein, Progress... that is all.

Neuspeed is ass for Hondas. I wouldn't put them on my car if they were free. Good on euros, bad on jap cars.

what year vehicle we talking about? how many kms on it? what you wanna do with the car, how long you wanna keep it, and how much is your overall vehicle budget?

How about AGX with Eibach pro kit? Is that any good of a combo?

imported_civicfighter 10-Mar-2007 05:36 PM

AGX and prokit would be a good combo. It would be a very good ride (almost stock) but keep in mind that the height will not be too much different from stock either.

kwasley 10-Mar-2007 06:32 PM

sportlines are good
h&r sport are good

why not just burn money, or spend it on euro style lights? Eibach and AGX would be near stock... maybe slightly more dampening. It would be a complete and total waste of money. Which is fine if you wanna remain OEM ride, just a lil lower. but I think you'd feel like a geek spending almost a grand with virtually NO difference.

oh sorry, question, will springs (tiens) off a acura 1.6EL fit my 1997 Civic Si.. i assume yes, but im not 100% sure

imported_jdm ek4 11-Mar-2007 05:19 PM

The reason why i asked cause my friend has it on his 96 talon and it looks decent and nice ride comfort. Just wanted some feed back if anyone had this combo on a civic so i know what to go for and what not too. LoL thanks for answering it tho LoL
