GSR turbo charged option:
- good motor and good tranny to boost overall... can stand a decent amount of psi if tuned right... not difficult to double up the stock hp
- can be found for 2500$ if you take some time to inspect different motors until the right one comes
- obd1 availability, you can run p28 ecu to tune with chrome after you turbo
- easy installation for your EG and turbo kit is easy to be spotted
B-20 turbo charged option:
the crv motors are not bad for its torque, but i would take the b18b over the b20... the b20 needs some engine built up to handle more boost in the long run because of its weaker walls
need an LS tranny anyways, why not get a LS motor with the LS tranny together?
K-20
super costly to install into your EG
super costly to customize a turbo kit into your EG
costly to tune
depends on how deep your pocket is... they all are heavily potential motors for turbocharging... the k's are even good to n/a...

check out t e k n o t i k.com (with no spaces) they have their prices on their website, i bought my b20 from them, couldnt be more happy, awesome deal, and he tests it infront of you, replaces all the faulty parts also.
an LS tranny isn't really fun, i would try to look for a gsr or type-r tranny for better acceleration.

buy an engine that you can see running in a car.
I'm not a big fan of buying way overpriced engines from importers, and you're taking a chance buying one from a scrapyard.
You can find gsr swaps on the boards for $2500-3500.
Don't buy a cheap turbo kit.
Don't cheap out on engine management.

how's erics spuzz taste?
Definately bring a friend who knows cars and a compression tester. A running car is a lot easier to do a compression test on, and i'm willing to bet the owner wouldn't complain about doing a compression test in front of you...unlike...some places i know of (i know u know who i'm talking about chris_si98).

Whatever you do, bring a mechanically inclined friend

It's scary how most people only look for a clean motor. They'll buy anyhting that was powerwashed.
