Im looking for either a new or rebuilt alternator for an 88-91 civic. It must put out at least 120 peak amps.

just ask any car modification shops... they have their sources i'm pretty sure... talk to your mechanic

i bought mine off LBKC off CCA but lately people have been having problems i think getting in contact with him. I bought a 160A alt that did over 140A at idle.

Im not 100% sure on this but it should be the same for your civic as the same alt i have was installed in a stock crx. Anyways my advice is to find a place that sells rebuilt or brand new alternators and get a small GM case alternator and those usually range from 100A +. They fit almost like stock, the only modification needed is to add washers or a spacer between the alt and the lower mount to make up for the tiny bit of extra room. This would be your best and cheapest option aswell as being reliable depending on the warranty etc offered by the place you purchase it from.

canadian auto electric can do one for u got mine done for about $180 but no warranty, but mine is still working and i've had it for a year and a half no problem. there in scarborough

Really? What did they wind it to put out? And is it an original honda alternator rebuilt or a gm alt reworked?
