Well I will be going hunting for an engine at nearby sites across the city. I just wanted to know what should I do to inspect the engine? Any tips or comments or guidelines I should follow when looking for an engine. Going to be looking at either the D16Z6 or D16Y8 engines along with if it's not already included, an transmission from the EX or Si models.

Also how much would I be looking for the engine? and transmission (is it included?)?

I'd stay clear from those engines cause they will be high milage item's.....go get a d15b vohc vtec engine (130 hp) from a japan engine importer...you coudl probobly get a waranty with it aswell....calll up lucky star or Tiger automotive....as for a d15b sohc vtec engine...
