Engine help d15-d16

Hey guys my buddy just recently purshased a 4th gen 4 door and the motor has now started to smoke bad and cant get an etest so we picked up a d16a8 i believe it is out of the 4th gen si's but he doesnt have the computer what all do we have to do to get it to run use the original tb and im of the d15 which essentially means the engine should run good but not work as good as the si ? or anyone know what needs to be done or what a computer or anything is worth

it would run good and it'll be hard to pass an e-test with the wrong ECU.

Your option is to chip your ecu (pm zeeman) and run the proper chip or he can customize a chip for you.
