What gauga wire to use?

First off, I didn't know which forum to put this in, so if it's in the wrong place, please feel free to move it. Thanks.

My question:
I need to run a few wires, in particular, a few ground wires and an o2 sensor wire, to some gauges I'm putting in.
What gauge of wire should I buy/use for applications like this?

Thanks in advance for the info.

I'd say 22 or 20 gauge wire

i prefer larger ground wires, but that's just me..
i'd personally use 14/18 for the power wires (or lead wires), but again, that's just me..

I generally like to match what's in Honda's harness... which to me seems to be 20 gauge for sensors.

i take into account extra distance travelled (extra resistance), proximity to heat sources (heat = resistance too) etc and accomodate accordingly..
