I have a 93 civic si hatchback, my brother has a 93 civic si coupe but my oil filter is smaller than his, I took the filter in part source and they said it's from a different engine.

dont listen to the part source guys.

i would say d16z6 but the valve cover says VTEC on those engines. He might of replaced the VC or something.. just check the engine code on the block at the front passenger side of the motor right before where it meets the tranny

Actually 93 si civics VC DO NOT say VTEC on them!!!!

Otherwise they look the same.

Your motor is a 93 si motor... just look for the D16z6 on the block.

Most partsource guys only know what they see on the screen..

I asked them for axel back bolts and a flange.

And they ordered me Cat Bolts with no flange and springs.. lmao

I believe Honda changed oil filter size recently, so the bolt pattern is the same, it is just the filter size is a little different.

Its a D16z6, My 93 SI doesnt have the Vtec logo eather.

correct, oem honda blue filters are noticable smaller than fram/qs/motomatser.

they will all fit though.

AS LONG AS THE MAIN BOLT SIZE IS THE SAME AND THE GASKET SIZE IT THE SAME IT SHOULD DO THE JOB FOR THE OIL FILTER

i called partsource the other day looking for a starter for a 99-00 civic SiR....and he asked, "and its an automatic right?" i was thinking wtf? i said no, and he tells me they only have starters listed for automatics..they didnt even come auto..??

on another note, canadian tire doesn't have the right part number for 99-00 sir upper rad hoses either, they list the d-series hose for all of them..even though they have the b16 engine code right.

just pointing out, dont listen to everything those guys say..they're just spitting out what the screen tells them..which for me has been wrong almost half the time..
