What Do I Need In Order To Install Front & Rear Sway Bars?
My '99 Civic DX Hatchback did not come with any sway bars. What do I need in order for the front and rear sway bar to bolt in?
These are the kits I'm looking at:
- Comptech Rear Sway Bar with Lower Tie Bar
- Eibach Sway Bar Kit (front and rear sway bar)
- Suspension Techniques Speedtech Sway Bar System

rears you'll have to have end-links, then the bars will probably come with the little D shaped brackets and bushings. Front i know is more diffacult, and i remember seeing whats needed, i'll see if i can find the link.
can i ask, why those sway bars though. they are not cheap and you can get OEM ITR front and rear through classifieds much cheaper. Hell, you can find CTR sways even and thats a monster 22mm. JDM ITR is 23mm and USDM is 22mm i believe. There are also 19mm ITR, i donno if its an older one or what though.
Civic Si/Acura 1.6EL is 13mm rear and 24mm front, ITR is 26mm front.
if you go with a larger one like 19mm or 22-23mm rear, i'd look into a beaks subframe reinforcement kit or other subframe reinforcement kit such as ASR etc. Some have their own, i think comptech has something with their kit to reinforce where it attaches to the subframe. CTR/ITR have reinforced subframes about 3x the metal size of the rest of the civic line. this is from what i've read cause i'm looking into adding a 19mm or 22mm rear bar to replace my 13mm stock unit
bbarbulo seems to know his **** about this stuff, pm him. i've asked him a few questions about RSB for what i'm considering

Here is a few more...

The back is basically bolt on. Your rear LCA's and subframe should already have the holes to mount everything. Mine do anyway.
The front needs Si or SIR parts, but I'm not sure exactly. I'm sure Nova or Bbarbulo will add their knowledge.

rear sway install, DIY, one is from TCC
here is a nice front sway install in a DX hatch even

looks like ya need the LCA and forks from si/sir with the bolts. si/sir forks are wider apparently as well as the end-links too.

Damn I doubt I could find them used....

I scored a front SIR sway bar from a user on here a few weeks back, and found the front LCA's with end links for $40 from a user on Clubsi.com
my last mission is to find the forks and i'm good to go
good luck !
