what can be wrong?
 

ok guys i dont know what the problem is..but i hope its not big...well today i changed my battery in my SiR...after starting the car...the ABS light is on!!!..I know its nuthing to do with changing the battery...what can this problem be?...expensive repair?...

have the code read, without knowing the code we can't tell you anything.

if you feel up to the task you can obtain the ABS trouble code yourself...
bridge the service check connector with a spare piece of wire
then turn ignition to ON position (don't start motor)
then watch the ABS light on the cluster dance
long blink is for first digit, short blink for second digit
example: 23 = 2 long blinks followed by 3 short blinks

Service Check Connector:
two pin plug (two wire plug), not connected to anything
may be in a green/blue rubber/plastic holder
located under glove box in kick panel area, under the carpet,
where the ECU/PCM is located...look it up if you cant find it

I'm assuming that the SIR has this option available, i could be wrong, but i've done this to a 1999 EX, so someone correct me, or give better details if i've missed something
if you can change a battery, then you can do this too

honda is asking me $90 to diagnose the problem...should i have it done and find out what it is....or it that way too much

I had this happen to my integra before- and it was also after changing the battery- I reset the abs system and never had it come on again. Acura/honda does the same for like lets say-$90

I would check for any codes first before trying this.

1. Short the service check connector (under the glovebox, same one shorted to check engine codes).
2. Depress the brake pedal.
3. Turn the ignition switch ON (II) while keeping the brake pedal depressed.
4. After the ABS light goes OFF, release the brake pedal.
5. After the ABS light comes ON, depress the brake pedal.
6. After the ABS light goes OFF, release the brake pedal.

just to reiterate for Tigga29, this is the process to clear the ABS codes, make sure to check for codes before clearing them, just incase there is a problem

I had the ABS light come on my accord, it was the alternator. But using a piece of wire and bridging is real easy. It will give you your code, ask someone to post a picture if it so you know what it looks like, bridge it with a piece of wire and turn the ignition 2 clicks forward and watch ur dash for the flashing lights as spl_civic said. Don't waste $90. Goodluck
