How tight is your budget? If it's REAAALLLLYYY tight, then just pick up an Si motor if yours isn't already, otherwise go with a b16.

GSRs are getting too hard to find (in decent shape) and are getting too expensive. Plus alot of them are found by dubious means.

B16A2
B18B1

These are the way to go.

OK

OK

B18B1 thats the LS right? If so can it ever be made as fast as the B16A2 without adding on the Vtec head?

Sure. TURBO my good freind. B18B is a good platform for a turbo set-up because it has a larger displacement, and lower compression due to the fact that there's no V-TEC. You could build yourself a custom turbo setup for a little over a grand, but you should spend another grand and get Z-Dyne Gold engone management system. This will give you more tuning power, and make ur turbo set-up reliable and safe.

Any hydro B-series motor is going for premium nowadays.

If money weren't an issue, I'd get a nice B18C. Since we're talking budget, go for a B18B or B20A/Z.
B16's are nice if you want VTEC for the added punch, but it won't let you go as fast if your looking into a project.

Good choice. I wanna drop a DOHC ZC into a 4th gen hatch and boost that ****. Checkout www.homemadeturbo.com . They have a few different set-ups, all of them very affordable and possibly to DIY.
