it's pretty easy to do it yourself...and you only need a 1st gen B16 so everything is easier to come by than a tim hortons.

I need a 2nd gen B16A...or is it B16A2...i dont know...they're too pricey.

yup, no taxes or install. original post was where to find engine/tranny. install if not done by yourself will add quite a bit more, taxes are around $307 more for the $2050. engine sway **** adds up...$$$

LMFAO!!!....its true...both parts, it took me and 1 friend about 25 hours to do his b16 into EF swap....lol...and we ran into soooo many problems.

isn't a 2nd gen b16a JDM version (both obd1 and obd2) and the b16a2 is the USDM version that comes in the 99-00 SIR ?
I got my 2nd gen b16a with mounts, axles, linkages, ecu, harness (which you can't use b/c its *** backwards), tranny w/bad main shaft bearing, ****ty *** worn out clutch and flywheel which was in desperate need of balancing, faulty waterpump, and a bunch of broken sensors for $2600....its not the swap thats expesive its all the other things that nickle and dime you to death....lol.
Moral of the story, be careful when purchasing an engine from a jap importer b/c you never know how who maintained it or how they drove it before you....make sure to at least do a compressiont test when buying an engine. Its easy to make an engine look clean.
Also, when trying to keep costs down on a swap, you will regret not changing the water pump/timing belt and clutch while the engine is out....i know i did. Its much, much more work to do once the engine/tranny is in the car.
anywho...happy swapping....

but why put a B16A2 into a 1989 hatch when B16A1 is all thats required since its a 89. B16A2 is 10hp more, but its also $1000 mor

I am pretty sure that his response was in response to stock94block's comment.

Yes, 89honda needs a 1st gen b16 or b16a1.
