its hard to not get mad at the first part of this but you do have a point. there are tons of people who jump into things and regret it. i, on the other hand make more money than anyone i know at my age. without disclosing how much i just want to point out money isn't an issue. i have the complete kit already for my car, proper engine management, fuel management, and now built internals with hopefully a dart block coming in mid june that i am also buying.......this is the first car i have ever spent tons of money on, and its not up to anyone to judge what i feel is a ton of money...1500 isn't much so dont misunderstand exactly what i am saying. i know its going to be a money pit and it already has been with all the mods i have done. i am just the kinda person who complains about spending money but always does it anyways.........
unless you also tell me how much you make, ask me what i make, and compare the two don't assume i have no $$ or no job thanks...=D

dart block eh?
Looking for 600whp?
If not, don't waste your money....dart blocks aren't cheap, and it would stupid to spend that much on a block just to say you have a dart block and not even really need it.
I'm guessing you probably don't, seeing as you were originally planning on boosting a stock LS, you've probably got a smaller turbo that won't make 600whp, so a dart block again, would be a waste. Either that or you are going to be buying a new turbo, better manifold, bigger intercooler, larger injectors, 3" exhaust, yadda yadda.

p.s. who cares how much money anyone makes?

m_power has been in the honda game longer than you've been able to drive (guaranteed), so listen to him carefully when he posts.

i can understand that he knows more than I do but yes i want to drive a 400hp daily driver. to tell you the truth i just got a new job that pays way more than i have ever made so i just want to go all out on something. also my turbo is a t4 that maxes out at about 35psi so i think i can have some hp if i built the engine right.
so, no more saying i have no money, or that i initially planned on boosting a stock ls, cuz everything changed recently and all i want is a nice looking, crazily fast, reliable daily driver for around 5000. and if it costs more then thats fine. i already found the block but its in a car now but when the car is parted i am getting the block for 1800...and apparantly its mint but i still have to get it all checked out...=D

so i need help people, not advice on why i need this, or how much that is or how little i know........

a dart block for 400whp is retarded, i'm sorry. Use that $1800 somewhere else....seriously.

Or instead of wasting crazy cash on a civic, do something productive with the awesome money you're making, like buy a house....a real investment....trust me, once you're in your own house, the car will become less of a priority.

I'm not trying to tell you what to do, but you're still young (as am i) but i've already started planning for the future. Which is something everyone should do, especially if they're young, live at home and make crazy cash. Life can change real fast, next thing you know, you're hurt/sick, can't work, no money, and have a crazy fast civic with lots of cash dumped into that you'll be forced to sell for rediculously cheap b/c you need the cash.

Anywho, good luck with your project.

I agree with Zeeman
I jsut got a nice promotion at work and I am only 23 still living at home.... I spent a little on my car not to long ago but now its all about a house and the future. Not trying to say ditch your idea but even if you save up for a house first, that much more you put on a down payment will save you so much money in the long run and if you can manage to get more than 20% you can avoid the insurance as well saving you even more money.

i already moved out and rented an apartment for 6 months, i know it costs a ton of money to just even rent and live on your own, but at this point things are going great again with the parents, making tons of money, and i feel like i owe it to myself to get my car the way I want it after how hard i worked to get the job i am at now..........so yes, its getting boosted, and yes i want 300whp.....and i can't wait to enjoy it regardless of how many problems and money issues come up......

maybe I AM trying to turn this into the "wise investment" section c-pos.....haha....j/k

I'm still offering my car advice though lenny.

Fug, you seem to be all over the place with what you want and what your power goals are....and unfortunately, you seem to have already started buying parts....soon you'll turn into m_power and have a solid inventory of parts to build 3 cars with and still collect more....haha

Seriously though, how i'd build a car for 300whp is different than if i were building it for 400+whp. Make sure you get the right people/shop working for you. It would suck to spend all that money and be unhappy with the results or have a car that isn't completely reliable. I mean, granted when you try to make a car put out triple its intended power output, there are gunna be snags on the way....trust me, i've been through a fair share of mine with my car, especially lately with the oil leaks...yuck.
Like a smart person said in an above post, patience is a virtue....good things are definately worth waiting for. I'm completely and utterly addicted to boost...haha, i had a turbo kit for my car when it was the stock d16z6 in there still, but wasn't ready, i didn't know enough and knew it, and didn't want to have serious problems constantly. Its been over 3 years since i sold that single cam turbo kit, i've wanted to boost my car ever since, and just now finally finished it on my b16. Its worth waiting for....don't rush anything. If the shop is taking longer, let them have the car as long as they need, let them get it all sorted out. It will save you some headaches. Get it tuned right when you first start up that engine so that it has solid AFR's (air/fuel ratio) to assure the engine will break in as best as possible....mind you a good shop would already know this and do this for you to assure you're not pissin your money down the drain on all of those expensive engine parts.

i wasn't trying to dis, just lending advice. so, if money isn't a problem, don't worry about your oversized T4 making the power, or wasting money on a Dart....how about you spend the money a bit more wise. start with upgrading your pads, rotors, brake lines and calipers (if you can find them at a good price). rdmember, you have to stop after you frantically exceed the speed limit. and, if your suspension is at all fatigued, upgrade the lca bushing, and make sure you have proper suspension with plenty of adjustabilty. its not how much money one has, its how and where its spent. safety first when your in the 300whp + area, buddy.
