Weight Reduction

im thinking of doing weight reduction i dont want to remove much from interior because it will look ugly but do u have any ideas on what things could be taken of a 96 civic .... thnx

spare tire and tools, take out your backseats, gives you an excuse to not drive a whole bunch of moochers home

I believe AC weighs alot but i would need confirmation anyone? you could also buy replacement parts that are lighter...

i was actually thinking the same thing, for my 1993, even tho i have a system, i was thinking about my spare tire and all that junk in there, then the back seats but then my sub and **** is visible, what else could i remove to make it a little lighter?

also depends how much money u have to spend. You can get a cf hood, replacement windows made from lighter material.

Basically... if you want to reduce the weight of the car without changing the interior.

1) gut the stereo
2) remove A/C
3) Switch to a manual steering rack (remove P/S)
4) get lightened bumpers
5) body panels such as hood and fenders can be redone in CF
6) remove all the loose stuff like spare tire and stuff.
7) drain the windshield washer bottle and remove
8) light wieght wheels and tires
9)remove the front seats and replace with light wieght racing seats
10) replace steering wheel and remove passenger side air bag.

of course this list contains some removl of safety features I am not responsible if you do these mods and hurt yourself or ours because of these mods.
