Washer Trick
So I tryed to do the washer trick on my 99 SiR tonight, and now I cant tighten one of the bolts all the way. It goes in about half way and than it gets REALLY tight. All the other bolts went in, so I have no clue what the problem is. I even tried to use alot of WD-40, but without luck.
Could there be dirt inside thats makes it get really tight? Is my car unsafe to drive like this for a day, I have to go to work tomorrow? Any other suggestions? |
I was only using hand tools, and its a pretty awkward place to work in, so you can really use all your strength.
lol
its cross-threaded pal. Don't worry.. happens to the best of us. pull it out and re-thread it. |
I've pulled it out like 10 times, and it doesnt help.
if someone can help me with this and putting on a new fuel filter, I will pay them $40.
i know it doesnt help you have to RE-THREAD your threads. You put it in ****-eyed. Get a tap and die set and go to town.
I'll put your new filter on.. but im not touching another rear camber kit. |
hahha, where do you live ?
should I just buy a new bolt, or take it to honda ?
oakville
so I used 4 washers, and my camber is still bad, do you guys see any problem with useing 6 washers ?
how bloody low is your car and how do u know the camber is so bad still?
you want your filter done or what? lol
maybe you're doing it wrong
make sure the washers are between the car and the arm...not the bolt head and the arm. :shrugs:
^lol that would be funny
If you used 6 washers, I'm sure you would have had to use longer bolts. (Maybe around 50mm or maybe 60mm)
If one of them is giving you a problem, you may have to re-thread it. |
yea, I know Im doing it right. My car is lowered 2.25". I used a level on my tires, and its a alot better, but it needs like 2 more washers.
Im going tomorrow to the shop to get it re-threaded, and to get a new fuel filter. What else should I do for a tune up. Ive done: oil change, transmission, brake, clutch, coolant. |
By the way, im useing 50mm bolts, should that be good for 6 washers ?
for the tune up get some new spark plugs maybe a new distributer cap...but i wudn't pay to have them done ...do them urself.
and for the 50mm bolt...i dont know |
Drop by my house and ill tell you excatly what you need for a tune-up..
I can even do it for you at my shop if you please. or at my house. |
