warped rotors
hey I got a set of cross drilled brembos (cheap **** off ebay) and they warped in less than a year. now i get heavy vibrations when i brake. Ive been told that if i keep driving like that i can do worse damage to my car.
is this true? |
I'm guessing that the warped rotors will prematurly wear out your pads and maybe even damage your calipers. Are they real Brembos? They are not usually "cheap ****". Installing them incorrectly, over tightening your wheel lugs and even poor driving habits can warp rotors.

I had warped rotor's... they can get caused by heavy breaking....or breaking while turning....I speak from experince....lol
|
they won't ruin the pads, it will just decrease the rotor's life span. my brembo slotted were warped but they seem to have gotten better after 2 months later. it probably has to do with the person who installed them. i let a guy install mine for cheap but never again. i think he is the reason why my rotors are warped because he didnt grind away the rust or anything behind the discs and didn't tighten the screws enough. i took the rotors back off and found rust in the back of the rotors so i grinded away all the rust and the vibrations while braking were not nearly as bad.

That vibrating basically puts extra strain on your ball joints and tie rod ends when your braking.

yeah thats what i heard. that they mess up ur ball joints and tie rod ends.
thanks for the help everyone |
