get some nawwzzzzz hahah j/k man... umm..

your best bet is probably gettin a motor out of an EL as I'd imagine there might be more EL autos than there are Si autos? I mean I could be wrong, but you could also source it from an EL

Good luck

Wrong generation.. EL is OBD2... so it won't work... He'll need one from a 92-95 Civic.

streetXtreme: what u trying to do here might be a cheaper way to get some juice from your car, but it is harder to find a auto Si from 92-95 civic....but it is way easier to find auto Si after 95 and beyond. but i dont think u will get a lot of power from 92-95 Si (u are jumping from 103 HP to 127HP) and you wont feel the VTEC with Auto cuz i tried them and only standard can feel teh vtec (more obvious)
so i do recommended u save up and get a B16 and 5 speed tranny cuz what u trying to do wont make your car any faster than as of now

isn't the engine in a manual and auto the same??
from what i know......an engine is an engine......
its just that the thansmission and ecu are different......and maybe some other stuff.....
but the manual HEAD and auto HEAD should bolt in exactly...
i could be wrong.......someone clarify please....

i don't mind if its not going to give me that much power......i'm going for looks anyways......
i just want more power for normal driving......

from research....i found out that swapping the head will give me more power than the normal si since there will be more compression with an si head on my dx block..
something like 11:1

the main question is that if i swap the head...can i use my old AUTO ecu and just put in a vtec controller or switch...

i believe you can do this,

vtec can be activated when wide open throttle is achieved..
somethin like 14.2 volts??!? ksr correct me if i am wrong..

so, when u slam on the gas to the floor...vtec kicks in, but i'm guessing ur vtec will kick in a bit sooner..since it's being controlled by the pedal...

should cost around 600 - 900 bucks? i think..

i think thats all i need.......

Yes,.... D16Y8 does have a thinner gasket, BUT.... The combustion chamber is different from a D16z6.. So.. they won't exactly work that well together.. The Y8 head has a square combustion chamber and the Z6 has a clover leaf shape.. So.. stick with the Z6 head gasket..

Vtec can be inexpensively activated through a throttle switch, just like how NOS can be activated, BUT.... performance is sacrificed due to the unoptimized fuel & ignition timing. SO you can retain your old ecu.

u will run lean at the higher rev range.
yes u can change the ecu later.
switch costs something like 50USD
u can retain ur current IM and all that. all u need is the head.
