ok i know ef 88-91 eg92-95 ek96..blah blah..i know that much....but what i wanna know is

when someone says eg6 ok ef whatever where is that coming from and can someone clear up which means what...what makes it an EG6, and not a EG5...??

look at the Vin number on your car it will have the marking in it

ok...yea i know i havea 94 hatch which makes it a eg6 apparently what makes it what...i also have an 89 hatch and its vin is 2hged6?....does that mean its an ED6? is the 6 a HB..or what? coem on jdm ****** get technical on me

positions 4, 5, 6 of the vin number indicate the designation of the chassis. depending on the year the chassis designations meant the trim level and configurations. for example in the 6th gen the EJ means coupe and sedan... dunno what the hatches are, but they are NOT EK. EK is only a Asian thing and possibly Europe too.

here are some:

EG2/3 = JDM and USDM Del Sol

EG4/6 = JDM VTi hatch/ JDM SiRII hatch

EG8/9 = JDM VTi Ferio/USDM DX/LX 9=/JDM SiR Ferio


EH3 = ALL USDM 92-95 hatch

EH9 = ALL USDM 92-95 EX sedan

EJ1 = ALL USDM 92-95 coupes
