vtec help?

hey guys was wondering i seen a post on here someone sellin a eg hatch si and they said they had a vtec module? or some **** allowing it to come on at 4000? it this correct and if so does anyone know how hard to install or how much they are? and would it make a big difference I dont even know when the vtec kicks in stock??? thanxs in advance

well having vtec kick in at 4000rpms would be stupid, it would make the car way slower than if it kicked in where it should be....which is either 4800 or 5500 with a p28 (d16z6 ecu). Installing a vafc, or vtec controller of any kind is simple and will only take about 45 minutes at most.

He is using a chipped ECU containing a chip that has been programmed to engage VTEC @ 4,000rpm.

gross....why?
Instead of buying a vtec controller just have someone (like myself) burn you a new chip with the vtec cross over where it should be. There is no benefit to lowering your vtec crossover.

ok man thanxs alot then why would burning a chip do anything? should it not already cross over at 4800 anyways? so then there would be no point to do anything to a d16 si engine when it comes to the vtec????
