Valve cover removal

Valve cover removal

can any one PLEASE post a how to...i want to paint the damn thing and i am reluctant to take it off with out knowing that it's not going to be a serious job....also if i do take it off is there any adjustments i can make to a d15 to better time the valves?

Dude it so easy. Take plug wires out. There are four 10 millimeter nuts on top of valve cover. Unscrew them and pull off valve cover.

Grind off the cover it helps make the paint look smother.

Oh **** theres a rubber seal around the bottom, pull it out so you dont paint over it!

i guess you know, but you are replacing the seals/gasket too ???

Depending on the condition of the seal it's posible. Keep in mind you risk leaks now that the seal has been removed and bent out of shape. The seal is not too expensive and is worth the money in the long run.

As for the valves, you should adjust the valve lash using a feeler gauge and setting the lash to the specs written on the emissions/tune up label under the hood. Easy to do if you know how to find TDC.
