I was having a mild ticking sound coming from my engine (b16a2). my friend suggested me to do a valve balencing. ( I did it in Honda) However after I got the car back. The ticking sounds gets worse.

re-check your valve lash again!!! beyond that it could be piston slap but lets hope it's not.

should be .007" for the intake and .008" for the exhaust.
This is a clearance between the camshaft lobe and the rocker while the cylinder is at TDC.

remember, when doing a valve adjustment, they ususally go tight when used, so when adjusting them you will increace the space between the rocker and loeb so the ticking will probably get louder just after the adjustment. The vavle will pound itself into the head getting closer and closer to the cam as a result.

ya valve adjustments are supposed to be done when the engine is cold. on a side note i think all b series engines are loud in the top end. i couldnt get the 2.0 to sound quiet.
