What should I do if I have a set of KONI yellow + H&R sport and a set of 17" that rubs my fender liner when I corner? What would be the best setup or solution to the problem that is practical?

I tried adjusting the firmness on the koni, but the stiffest setup still can't help the rubbing problem when I corner, I'm not talking about conering fast, just regular 25 - 35km/h

My guess would be the following
option 1:
put sir stock springs in and use the koni current setting.

option 2:
keep both, and adjust the height of koni one level up.

option 3:
add a ring under the springs to lift the car up an inch or so.

option 4:
put a spacer in the rims.

if you're koni's are adjustable why not adjust them? is it maybe that you have too much camber as well?

IMO i'd keep what i have and adjust the height of the koni's... if you put a spacer in the rims make sure you get longer wheel studs...

and do a search maybe it'll help u out more, esp considering what time of the night it is right now... scarlemthug had the same prob, as did others... see what they ended up doing...

Thanks. I'm not sure, cause the koni seems to only have two height setup for the front, and it's already the higher one. and the problem seems to be in the front.
What does the spacer do actually? I only heard of that but never know what it really does.

Can someone tell me if the front and the back of koni yellow for EK all have 3 height levels adjust? Or just 2 for the front and 3 for the rear ones?

offset on your 17s?

remove the top clip of the fender liner. that should do the trick.

Don't corner so fast! Seriously, I had the exact same problem with the same setup as yours but with Koni reds - right now I can't do anything to avoid the problem except slow down on turns.

Like bbarbulo said earlier, "you ain't dubbin if you ain't rubbin"

P.S. removing the top clip of the fender liner might do the trick, or you could try rolling your fenders.

this suck then, I spend the money hoping that I can corner faster and more stable...but turns out i have to turn slowly.....now I"m like someone please take either my rims or my shocks....

Hey You know I'm good for the shocks still if you give into the price I offered. I am running on 17's aswell and when I turn the tires rub a bit, for some reason I don't notice it anymore. I got The Pro Kit, but no shocks yet. I hope I don't run into the same problems with my setup (If I ever get those shocks)

your shocks are not the problem. the 17 inch 38 offset rims are your problem... dear god, who made you get 38 offset rims?? I ran 42... 40 is also acceptable if the upper clip is removed. 38... try taking out the upper clip!!!!!! that will help GREATLY. you may still rub-a-dub-dub a little on hard offcamber turns. Finally, if the rims are worth it, go to wheelfix or carcones and have them shave off 2 mm off the inside of each wheel hub face to fix the offset of your wheel. Should be cheap to do.

guys, regardless of the height of the car, the offset MUST be correct! the height only becomes an issue once the middle of the tire starts hitting the frame of the car, or when your upper control arms hit the strut tower. THEN height is a problem. Otherwise, getting the correct wheel/tire combo is crucial.

Offset makes all the difference.

Also if you have 17 x 7.5, you might have been able to get away with 17 x 7 with less rubbing at the same offset.

If this is a big deal, sell the rims....that's what another TCC member did, who had the same problem as you.

In fact now I know the rims' offset is not correct. It's 38. It should be 40 - 42+. that's why I'm asking if I should shaved it to 38, if I didn't get the meaning of the numbers wrong.

well are the rims worth it, and are they structurally sound enough.

what wheels are they and how much did you pay for them? Finally, try on a set with 40 offset, just for peace of mind. Also, REMOVE THE DAMN upper clip from the wheel lining.
