just wondering where can I get that fixed today. How much would it be? Preferably in Mississauga. Thanks

Blue Dream 23-Sep-2003 09:52 AM

upper ball joint is gonna cost you about $160 from napa, then installing it, its easy if you have some tools

imported_cbishun 23-Sep-2003 09:55 AM

sorry buddy, saturday would be a bad day for me cause I'll be working, I really wanted to go today.

bbarbulo 23-Sep-2003 01:09 PM

what makes you think the upper ball joint is worn? Do you have this annoying intermittent knocking noise? Cuz I put 2000 SiR susp components on my 98 LX and the **** is all noisy, and methinks it's the ******* upper ball joint. That susp had 10K kms on it when I bought it. classic honda fuckup... balljoints

imported_cbishun 23-Sep-2003 01:13 PM

yes. I hear these fucked up noises that piss me off. When i stop hard or turn the wheel a little, it's not the CV joint noises, i've been there done that. I had it checked out and they said upper ball joint.

bbarbulo 23-Sep-2003 01:38 PM

And there I was thinking lower ball joint the whole time, thinking the susp was too new to have upper b.j. problems... at least now I know the culprit, that *****... :D to think I sold my perfectly good upper b.j. for $100... :( just cuz my parents thought it was a waste of space to keep my old susp around

imported_cbishun 23-Sep-2003 01:54 PM

damn sucks for you, so where you gonna go get it fixed? Or do you do the work yourself? I think I'm gonna go check out Splitfire see what kinda rate they got for this. Paul is a nice guy but sometimes I can see $$$ in his eyes. Maybe he can fix my cruise control problem too. Once i took my car to him to wire up my obd 2 ls engine in my 1995 civic, and he did it. Only charged me $40. My friends at the time couldnt figure it out but he did.

bbarbulo 23-Sep-2003 02:03 PM

I do it myself... thing that's an absolute KICK IN THE NUTS, is I just paid $110 for an alignment  so I'm gonna do both upper ball joints, plus another alignment... sounds like a fair bit of coin :(

imported_cbishun 23-Sep-2003 02:06 PM

yep, that sounds like coin.

shlammed 25-Sep-2003 03:22 PM

**** at least you guys can change your upper ball joints...i gotta get both front upper control arms replaced.

imported_cbishun 26-Sep-2003 12:18 AM

well I just changed my upper ball joint today. That was the problem, just as I thought. i got it done at splitfire, Paul charged me $120 for the ball joint, oil change, and to try to fix my Cruise control, but no luck with that. He said he needs to get something that shows him exactly what to look for with cruise control then he can fix it so basically he didnt charge me for the cruise.
