understeer help

i have kyb agxs paired with apex lowering springs... i wasn't too happy with my suspension so i messed with it yesterday and set it to max stiffness... and oh man, the ride is sweet... it just feels like its clawing around corners... at higher speeds i am getting some understeer... my nose is just slipping a little... would i be going in the right direction with a sway bar for the back?

if you want to reduce understeer you can induce oversteer. Try setting the rear shocks stiffer than the fronts.
But yes, you're in the right direction by thinking about sway bars. I'd have to say my sway bars made the biggest difference in handling of all of my suspension mods. I would get a set, not just the rear. I have the suspension techniques set and its great. I didn't have to get rear LCA's with holes for the endlinks either...very nice kit, very affordable price.

sway bars are mounted outside, underneath the car. I think your thinking of strut tower bars. Sway bars help way more than strut tower bars.

sorr, i meant a rear strut tower bar... i wrote the wrong thing... but yeah, i know the sway bars are underneath the car.... and i think a full set of those would tighten it up nice... but is the rear strut tower bar necessary?

i noticed a little difference with a rear upper strut tower bar, but i already had bigger sway bars, better springs/shocks and a front upper strut tower brace.
On their own, its debateable how much strut tower braces help, but as a part of a tuned (properly put together) suspension, they definately help.

A stock 99-00 SIR rear sway bar is a direct bolt on to your car. A few holes need to be drilled but thats it.

the rear sway bar may make your car more difficult to drive on high speed bends. When I added mine, I was on ****ty tires, and i was oversteering on 90degree turns at like 40km/hr (lift throttle oversteer)

that was a 19mm rear sway hollow.

I honestly hate sway bars... Cause Im a noob when it comes down to countersteering, plus my car is gay and it doesnt have ABS.

The guys up top basically have it down already, but basically the shocks should be about equal interms of stiffness front to rear.

If you have a bit of understeer, upping the rear shock stiffness may help.

I honestly prefer oversteering fwds for track use, but for the street its better to stay with a slightly understeering setup.

get some more chassis bars

well, its supposed to induce oversteer... so u just have to adjust your driving accordingly... but, you need oversteer to counter understeer which is he problem i am having now.

rear sway will help a lil, but biggest diff will have to come from your driving style.

"Ebay" don't have branded sway bars. You can still buy sway bars from Ebay that are made by Neuspeed, OEM Honda, so on and so forth. You need to know the brand that you are buying on Ebay.

most ppl just refer to "ebay" stuff as the generic and usually crap car parts that are sold on ebay...

The bigger the size, the stiffer it is.

Hollow ones work differently, but most likely, you will buy the solid type.

Best bang for the buck IMO. Why buy a crappy Ebay one?
