underdrive pulleys

OK, need an opinion on underdrive pulleys.

I want to get a set for my car, and for those(most) of you that don't know, I drive a pretty much stock 98 Si.

But I've read SOO many good things, that show I could benefit from installing these lightened pulleys(AEM, unorthodox), that I'm itching to get some.

FIRST: Do you think it really free's up horsepower for my car?

SECOND: Are there any detrimental effects from getting it done?

My alternator pulley and power steering pulley are worn and squeaking all the time and it's driving me mad(already tried WD40). I'm changing all three belts soon and that is why I'm inquiring.

Thanks all....
