to start i'd get a header, and maybe some BC Spec3 or 4 cams and build it up. Its all really weather you want to go N/A or not and how much you want to spend

I wouldn't supercharge it..

yeah im with him on this one im sure it would gain a lot of hp but u have a type-r which is already pretty fast and if u blow the motor thats an expensive paperweight ud have.but congrats on the c5 great choice,im sure youll have fun with it

I wouldn't even bother with the motor. You now have a nice powerful motor and I'd spend the money trying to make the rest of your car a capable chassis to handle the extra power and speed.

Upgrade the brakes with some high quality pads, rotors, lines and fluid. Do suspension mods if you haven't or just upgrade the parts to better ones. Get some nice, new sticky tires.

There's no sense having a powerful B18 motor if you can't put that power to the ground effectively.

exactly what Michael said, def work on the handeling of the car. it all depends on how much money you have, you could do both at the same time work on the motor and car handeling (brakes, suspension etc..)

good luck with your project!

Chigga1 17-May-2006 01:57 PM

your my hero Michael

i would do I/H/E
Comtech Ice box, Megan header or something of high quality not DC sports... they suck!! i think!! and a very good exhaust!

and suspension work...

very well said, but don't forget about good alarm too. When you start talking alot of money in mods, you should be thinking alot of money for alarm systems too (paging alarm with immoblizer, back-up siren, interior siren and the clutch club too)

i/h/e

nice drivetrain (flywheel/clutch)

that should be fun for awhile. The beauty about building a car/engine is driving it through it's different stages and seeing what works.

ie. drive the engine stock for awhile.. untill you get bored, then add i/h/e.. drive that.. then get a lightened flywheel, and a clutch.. then when you get tired of that.. headwork, tuning, etc.

Theres no sense in starting with 200whp out of the bat.. because once you get bored of that.. it'll become costly to upgrade:D

italian_dream88 17-May-2006 05:02 PM

thanks alot guys... i already have an intake and type R exhaust on my car... the first thing im going to do i think is header then lightened flywheel and a nice clutch.. anyone no a good clutch?

imported_Zyepher 17-May-2006 05:04 PM
