Question Type R into a CRX... what is needed?

OK lets see.....

I have a Complete Type R motor/tranny ecu, wiring, driveshafts etc.. EVERYTHING!!

I want to install this setup into a Honda CRX, What mods do i have to do, to put this B series OBD2 engine in the CRX?

Do I need to get a cable tranny?
Any engine mounts??
Shift linkeage??

I would appreciate your feed back on this... the more detailed info the less headaches i will have

thnks.

ok you need to do some research obviously, you have more money than Bra*ns, the gsr swap is basically the same swapover as the R

you will need....

motor mount kit, ie : hasport/enjo/placeracing, if you are using the type R tranny you can still use the hydro, but you will have to buy the new HASPORT hydro kit for the 88-91 civic/crx...its still cable actuaded but uses a linkage rod to move the hydro part inside the tranny...

next off is you will need the drivers side hardmount from either a b16a (1st gen b16a1) or b18a1 (90-93) integra, this is the "L" mount that hooks onto the block, and the engine mount bolts onto....source this from a jap importer, dealer, or wrecker.

next you will need is a rear tranny mount from a 90-93 integra the metal peice that connects the tranny to the aftermarket mount.

you will need new rad hoses, cut to fit, as far as the axles im sure they will work, but i suggest using the same intermediate shaft with whatever axles you are gonna go with, make sure you remove the rubber dust shield, and abs ring..(a must or the axle will bind!)

as far as obd-changes, im sure you can look around the internet and source yourself out a conversion harness, personnaly I would make the car obd-1, and use an obd1 distributor, (GSR, TYPER,SIR)

hope this helps a little

not worth the money no... you could spend a lot less on a gsr engine and aside from gearing probably wouldn't notice much difference

Seen a b18c5 with boost at Niagara in a CRX a few years back.
Good luck with the swap man!
