What's there to know about ITB's? either you make a custom set or you buy a set already made then you pay for the tunning....

TWM is fine if you have the money but ITB's aren't for the average joe that drives his car from the house to mcdonalds

sol2nv 25-Oct-2006 04:56 PM

yeah i know i dont even think they legal on the roads here but im asking is there another company that makes other ones or better ones

so far these are what i found http://www.jhpusa.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=21_31_45&products_id=1022&o sCsid=da8bce7380f7a1c5a21e0fbfc9fa2fa4

TWM, J's Racing, Toda, Jenvey, Mikuni, Omni...etc

BOND007 25-Oct-2006 05:14 PM

GREAT FOR RACE ...TOO MUCH TUNING FOR EVERY DAY

zeeman 25-Oct-2006 05:22 PM

hope you have a super high compression and big cams and LOTS of headwork. Otherwise don't waste your money on ITBs. If you wanna a baller intake manifold look into the AIR manifold by ENDYN.

sol2nv 25-Oct-2006 05:59 PM

yeah well the motor is gonna be fully built in spring jus drivin it for winter till the del slow can be drivin then this motor is goin for full port and polish and a bore and a sleeve kit and a stroker kit so there will be no problem in gettin high compression which out of all the brands would u say is best out of ur opinions i wuz lookin to get the carbon fiber ones from twm

better be k series then....:haha:.

sol2nv 25-Oct-2006 10:01 PM

lol nope so back on topic does anyone know the best indivduals for a b series?

Nova_Dust 26-Oct-2006 12:09 AM

There is no best, it is about velocity stack length, throttle opening and tuning that will make the most gain for your engine. I suggest you get the actual motor built first, then source out the proper sized ITB because right now, it seems like you are going after names, not what is actually needed for the engine.

sol2nv 26-Oct-2006 04:26 PM

well the thing is i found twm itbs from my buddy for a sik price and my motor will be done in the spring i jus wanna know whats up wif those or any other onez cuz im prolly gonna grab them and im not goin after names but i know what im goin for but i dunno cuz i never had expirence wif them so i wanna see what else is out there i have everything ready but its my winter beater at the same time till i get a replacement for my sol so yeah lol

imported_weiRtech 27-Oct-2006 09:26 AM

are the runner lengths adjustable on the twm itb's? by tuning the runner length with spacers you can realize a difference of anywhere from 5-10hp. the omni power pro-4 itb's for the k20 are like this. they realized a 14hp difference over the stock intake manifold before tuning the runner lengths and a 21hp gain over the oem mani after tuning.

zeeman 27-Oct-2006 09:30 AM

maybe you can make me some ITBs with adjustable runner lenghts aaron?....or maybe some barrels....haha....i'm not kidding.

imported_jdm ek4 01-Nov-2006 02:43 AM

Yeah...you can make your own ITB by using the Hayabusa itb's. Its been done here in toronto already.

VTEC_Thunder 01-Nov-2006 01:27 PM

I designed a set if itb's with variable length runners...

At lower rpms the runners are longer to give you more low-end torque, and as the rpms climb to redline, the runners get shorter to make lots of high-end hp....simple as that...

I'll post some pics...

Obviously haven't built them yet but I want to.

2 Attachment(s)
here are some pics:

It's a V4 concept (something different). NOT a V8, the 8 individual runners are for each intake port (2 per cylinder).

enjoy:

Runners at high rpm:
