Turning Off Boost?

I finally got all my parts in for my turbo setup. I'd like to know if I can run no boost till I get to a tuner? I was thinking maybe taking out the wastegate spring so that no boost would run to the engine. Is this possible?

what are you using fuel managnment wise injectors ect ..

nothing at the moment the turbo still isn't in the car till this weekend... But I have a set of DSM blue top injectors. I'd like to get the tuner to chip my ecu for the turbo and then turn on the boost.

Go to a tuner first, or to anyone that can chip your ecu, and have them chip it. They will put a basemap on so that when you turbo your car it will run just well enough to drive it to a tuner for fine tuning.

taking out the spring will do quite the opposite. Your boost gauge will go all the way up and boom.

There is no way to shut off boost, just lowering it and try to stay on the lower rpm's.

if u have an internal wastegate u can take the accuator arm off allowing the flap to open as soon as boost will start to build

You could mount the turbo but just run the intake to the TB and the turbo inlet. I don;t think thats tooo good for your turbo

as long as oil is lubricating the turbo it's fine.. the charged air would just go into the atmosphere.. but put a filter on the compressor wheel.. itll still draw air in

or just drive with the turbo,

your MAP is more than capable of reading the inlet air, I would be more concerned with those injectors,

I would do the exact opposite, run with the turbo and not the injectors, keep boost low so you don't get 100% duty on the injectors and you should be fine.

:dito: Your car would run really crappy due to the larger injectors

I didn't install the injectors yet due to I want my car tuned before the install. Ok so I'll just install the turbo and hook everything up just run like 3-5 psi with the stock injectors till i get it to the tuner. That should be fine right guys?

its fine as long as u dont go into boost....my buddy did it..
