Turbocharging my D15B7
Hey, My name is Corey and drive a 94 civic dx. I'm new to this board but have been currently on another board that was american so in return wasn't much help when looking for shops or prices for that matter.
On to my question, I am going to turbocharge my civic and want to get the Edelbrock Performer X kit. Has anyone heard of this kit or know where to get it? I went to a local shop here in Kitchener-Waterloo and they gave me a price of $5,300 for the kit and $800 for the install. That is alot of money for a turbo kit but I would be willing to pay it if that is the best price out there.
So if anyone knows where I could get this kit at a more affordable price please let me know.
Thanks alot and sorry if this wasn't the right place to post this.

You're gunna pay out the *** for the Edelbrock kit b/c its expensive, then shops charge you their tax on top of that, plus install.
I'm sure you could find someone one these boards to do the install for way cheaper and then have someone tune it.
Or do what brad says and take it to Defcon and get it all done in the same place. Defcon does great work (so i hear).

The edlebrock kit is one of the better kits out there IMO, but I feel it's highly un-necessary especially nowadays when you can piece a turbo kit together for well under $2000, then add about $1000 for tuning+install, maybe a bit more if a professional does it and you got yourself 200whp without spending 6000$ on some kit.

I agree with these guys...do a little more work and you can save a lot of money.
It's not like you need to be a pioneer now to turbo a civic - so just do some reading and piece together something half decent.

Thanks for the feedback... Sorry it took me so long to reply. I would like to share what happened. THE WORST DAY OF MY LIFE! My mom passed away shortly after I got home from work. Right in front of pretty much my whole family.
Just thought I would let that out.
Anyways, I was told the reliability of the edelbrock kit is really good. The guys at Point Zero(a local shop) told me I wouldn't encounter any problems with that kit. But I agree with alot of you, the more I think of it I think I will piece it together at least that way I have the knowledge and the ability to increase the boost if I desire. And on top of it, will be saving atleast 2 grand if not more.
Thanks for all the help and keep my posted. I want to here other opinions.
R.I.P. MOM:cry:
