Here is the thing, my friend recently gave me his stock turbo off of his 91 talon for free but the thing is the housing where the exhaust enters the turbo has a hair line crack but its only on the inside and hasnt reached the outside yet and I was wondering if I can still reuse the turbo by just welding the crack and grinding down the weld.Here is a picture of where the crack is.The white line is where the crack is.(this is not my turbo, camera needs new batteries)

yes it can be welded. just use 309L filler and make sure it is tig'd when you have it done. it would also be a good idea to grind out some material like a groove along the crack, then weld it and don't grind afterward- that will make a stronger weld. i've welded cast a couple times without any issues.

it's normal for 14b to have them..who cares just leave it
